| The
gig at Why Not MC Vetlanda (Sweden)
Audience: 180
Length: 70 min
So once again it was time to load up the cars and the trailer
and get on the road together with Beseech. We loaded all the suff
in the trailer in Borås and left for Vetlanda at about 11.00
and arrived safe and sound 3 hours later.
The welcome we got from the guys (and girls) at the club was just
amazing, they're such good people. After redecorating the the
room so all of our stuff could fit in there we started to assemble
the PA-system and everything else. Luckily we brought our own
lights because there was just flourescent lights in the ceiling
which perhaps isn't all that fun when giving a concert :)
Well in anyway, everything turned out great and Beseech could
start doing their soundcheck. The soundengineer Robert worked
his magic fingers and everyone was very happy with the sound on
stage and those of us that were off stage were quite happy too.
After the soundcheck it was time for a beer and some food, microwave
pizza or hotdogs felt rather good at the time actually.
We had been told to bring our swimsuits and now we were taken
to the local bath house where we enjoyed some juccuzzi and sauna.
I can tell you, it beats the hell out of just sitting around waiting
for the gig. Very nicely arranged by the club, who took extremely
good care of us all night and the following morning.
When we got back people started to arrive at the club and the
atmosphere was getting better and better. The merchandise table
was very popular and Beseech sold more merchandise than they have
for quite some time. The new t-shirts went like butter in sunshine
and the same thing for Drama, unfortunately we didn't have that
many with us.
Well on to the gig itself now, before Beseech entered the stage
a band called Ashes and Rain performed and got the crowd in the
right mood. But you could feel that most people were waiting for
Beseech, and after a short break they finally entered the stage
and started off with Fiction City. It was full throttle from song
1 to song 13, Erik and Lotta made the best gig I think I've ever
seen them do, they were really awesome this evening, both letting
loose and giving the crowd what they wanted. It was a good mix
of old and new songs and I think the new songs were as much appreciated
as the older ones. The biggest roar of the evening came when Erik
announced the ABBA-cover Gimme, Gimme. This is a song that was
very appriciated by this audience.
They were supposed to be finished after this but since the audience
was so good they decided to play yet another song from Souls Highway,
A Last Farewell.
The band was very pleased after the gig despite some minor mistakes
but that was nothing really. So all in all it was the best gig
I've seen them do for a while.
After the gig it was all fun, mingling with all the nice people
there, drinkíng a couple of beers and just having fun.
When the evening came to a close the merchandise table was just
about empty and so were we, it was a long day and it felt like
it was time to hit the sack.
After very few hours of sleep it was back to the club again to
take everything down and get it into the trailer. It was a bunch
of rather worn down creatures that worked to get everything back
home again. But we managed to get it all back safe.....well almost
everything, Robert cellphone is still in Vetlanda waiting for
it's owner to come get it home........
We'd like to express a special thanks to T-Bone, Ankan, Uffe and
all the others at Why
Not MC for a great arrangement and for making us feel so welcome.
We hope we can say it the Arnie way; We'll be back!
I'd also like to pay a special personal thanks to Ettan, the most
wild and crazy kitten I've ever met, for keeping me awake all
night by constantly attacking me in my sleeping bag.
