| The gig at Kashmir
in Borås
Audience: 250-300= Full house
Length: 1 hour
Finally it was time for the long awaited gig infront of the home
crowd. Allready in an early stage of the evening you could tell
that both Beseech themselves and the audience was really looking
forward to this gig. Trädgårn was filled with a wonderful
atmosphere when people started to arrive.
The warmup band Weyland Yutani made an excellent permorfance
and gave the crowd a real good warm up. This is definately a band
to keep your eyes on in the future. You could tell by now that
this was going to be a very pleasant evening for us all.
The fanclub was of course in place all evening spreading information
and signing new members. We're still trying to make out some of
the e-mail adresses given to us by people not that sober, but
we'll get it....some time.
Beseech was really ancsious to start playing when they entered
the stage at around 23.30, it was full speed ahead from the first
note til the last. At it wasn't just Beseech giving all the had,
th audience really showed what an audience should be like, screaming,
jumping, headbanging and applauding. Everyone did what they could
to be able to see Beseech, chairs, tables and other peoples shoulders
was used frequently to be able to see over the rest of the crowds
heads. The atmosphere was great, which was also notied on the
band which gave it all they had, rock 'n' roll at the highest
level.
From obvious resons it was the old songs that lead to most of
the sing along, even if it showed that Souls Highway are strating
to get out in the shops here in Sweden too now, some of the people
in the crowd really had done their homework on the lyrics. Besides
the old song you could definately say that the ABBA-cover Gimme!
Gimme! Gimme! was the one bringing down the most noice of them
all this night. Most seem to agree that Beseech has done a cover
out of the ordinary with this one.
From the comments heard during and after the gig it seems that
everyone really likes the new material and that they really hold
to be played live. We can't recollect hearing a single negative
comment, but maybe we just didn't listen too them.. In the crowd
Souls Highway producer Christian "Bullen" Silver could
be seen, which seemed to be enjoing himeslf like fish in water.
From what we could make out of the screams and shouting he seemed
to like what he heard. Former singer Jörgen Sjöberg
was also there checking out his successor and former band colleges.
Tha massive support from the crowd made Beseech give it all the
have and really rock their shirts off. The interplay between Erik
and Lotta gets better for every gig that passes. The vocalists
makes a dynamic frontduo that will grow stronger and stronger
with the experience of live gigs. The european tour this fall
is going to be something you don't want to miss. The front duo
is flanked by the contrasts of Klas and Robert, which in turn
has the energetic Daniel between them. In the back there's Mickael
and Jonas giving security and stability to the band. Each playing
their role in the sound that has gotten to be associated with
Beseech.
Together with sound engineer Robert Ölund, Beseech are on
their way to something big and the european tour will show that
thay deserve a place among the great.
There's really not much more to do than take a bow and thank Beseech
and the crowd at Trädgårn for a wonderful night.
