There's really not that much to say about this gig, more or less just 1000 km of driving. Beseech did what they're supposed to do.

I'll start the actual report here, since friday's gig wasn't much to report about at all. But after getting a couple of hours of sleep after getting back to Gothenburg around 7 a.m it was getting time to get ready for the first of todays two gigs. Beseech were booked to do an acustical gig at CD-specialisten, a record store here in Gothenburg. There were some worries about the turnout since the gig was booked rather late, but there was no need to worry, it was a rather good crowd there to see the band perform. For me it was the first time I saw the band perform their songs unplugged and I was actually kind of surprised that the songs sound that good with only acustical guitars, drums and piano, but they really do. The vocals of Lotta and Erik just comes out even more and their cooperation on stage has evolved a great deal. Lotta's voice to me has matured on stage, I've always liked it on record but live sometimes I've missed that little extra, not that her voice has ever been bad in anyway but nowadays I just love it both on stage and on record. Hmmm I'll probably get my ass kicked by her for writing that :)
Beseech performed a set of 7 songs including Forever Falling, Lost and the less obvious Manmade Dreams and Innerlane. Manmade Dreams which is a really kick ass song actually works great unplugged as well.
It was nice to see that Beseech got themselves a couple of new fans by this gig, there were a couple of people there who had never heard them before that bought the new record and that's always nice. More Beseech fans to the world!
After the gig Beseech, or mainly Lotta and Erik took the time to sign albums and various other things for the fans.

When the acustical gig was done it was time to move on to the next location, Sticky Fingers which is a well known rock club here in Gothenburg. So once again it was time to carry all the stuff up the stairs and put them up. You won't believe how much stuff these guys carry around, there's a number of guitars, basses, drums, amplifiers and so on. And since I am kind of a nice guy I try to help out in carrying all of this up and down. The things you do for a band like this :)
The soundcheck went well although there was a slight panic when people started to realize what time it was, there were only a couple of minutes left to the place opening when Beseech went off stage.
So now it was just time to wait for Beseech to get on stage again. Well, it wasn't that hard really, I met a lot of old loyal fans like Mikael and Marcus (thanks for the great job of putting up posters by the way), Buffy and Martin from our friends at Why Not MC. He actually turned down their annual bikemeet in Norway to be in Gothenburg for this concert, that's what I call a loyal fan! I also met up with some new fans who were there to see the band perform for the first time and when I spoke to them after the gig they assured me it wasn't the last time they would see Beseech live.
Any thoughts about an empty place was blown away when the place started to fill up, I would say that there were about 250-300 people there and what a crowd it was. I don't think I've ever seen a crowd at a Beseech concert act like this, it was just amazing. They started allready before Beseech came on stage and when they finally did the crowd just went ballistic, it will definately be something to remember.
You could tell that Beseech felt the support from the crowd and they put on a magical performance from opening "Innerlane" and just kept going through the entire set. I've seen quite a few Beseech gigs by now and I have to say thet I've never seen them better than this night. Maybe everything wasn't perfect techically but who actually gives a damned about a tone kept too long or anything else like that when the gig is just so amazing. I know I don't anyway. Songwise thepeak for mewas when everyone but Lotta and Mikael left the stage and they performed the beautiful "Lost" with just Mikael's piano and Lotta's magnificent voice, that gave me the goozebumps anyway, I just love that song. Erik had a really good night, the vocals was excellent as always and his talk between the songs was really funny, especially when making a lot of friends badmouthing Stockholm.
Jonas made his first gig playing with a cap on the entire time, that's not an usual sight. Word has it he wasn't trying to make a fashion statement but just trying to keep his earpice in place :)
You can really tell that the entire band has gained a lot of experience on stage, all of them are more comfortable on stage nowadays and the newcomer Manne has really taken his place in the band and on stage. And let's not forget Daniel and Mikael who rarely get the attention that they deserve, without these two really good musicians Beseech wouldn't be what they are. Our hats off for you guys!
It was really nice to see that the fans had allready learned the lyrics for the new songs and the crowd sure didn't have any problems what so ever to do their part in the singing, peaking in the ABBA cover Gimme Gimme.
The callback for extras was the best/worst I have ever heard, the crow went totally nuts, jumping up and down, screaming their heads off, time for the goozebumps to come out again. I especially like that they picked up Velvet Erotica from Black Emotions again, it's just such a good song performed live. They've done some nice twists and turns with it to make it sound even better. All in all this was just an amazing night, an ecellent songlist with a perfect match of new and old songs and Beseech having a really good time on stage, nothing could have been better than this really.
I just hope that all of you out there will get the chance to see this band perform on a stage near you sometime soon, it's such a brilliant experience.

I almost forgot, the entire show this night was recorded both on camera and tape so hopefully there will be a DVD available in the future. Let's keep our fingers crossed for that one.

Well, that's about it for now. We hope that we'll be able to add some more videophotage to this report sometime soon.
