The gig at Belsepub in Gothenburg

Audience: 100-150
Length: 1½ hour

So it was finally time for all the Beseech fans in Gothenburg to get their well deserved share of Beseech. After some changes in dates and other stuff the gig was now on. Now Beseech left Borås with destination Gothenburg together with warm up act Ewing Oil. After some trouble wit one way streets we found our way to Belsepub and started to unload all of the stuff, which was pretty hard in the heat. Well the stuff was set up anyway and after a delicious meal the soundchecks began, which Beseech started because they were playing last in the evening. You can really tell that these guys has been around for a while now, the soundcheck was smooth and without problems and everyone was happy with the sound. As usual Robert Öhlund was the sound engineer for Beseech and this night he also did the sound for Ewing Oil.

When this was done it was just to start waiting, Beseech was due to go on stage at 12 o'clock and it was just 8 o'clock now, members of the bands started to spread out. Lotta, Mikael and Erik went home to Lotta to get ready for the gig. Myself, Öhlund and Daniel took place in the dressing room together with a couple of beers and talked away a couple of hours.

At 11 o'clock Ewing Oil entered the stage and made a great gig, the made a really good job at warming the crowd that was starting to grow now. Klas joined the band on two songs and sang together with Hagge from Ewing Oil, something that Klas is not used to from Beseech where he only does backing vocals. Ewing Oil's hard core made the crowd really on their toes when Beseech entered the stage at around 12.30. From starting "A Last Farewell" it was full speed a head. Even if the crowd wasn't that big they sure acted like it, the empathy infront of the stage was out of this world. Beseech really let loose too during this gig that was almost to homecrowd, there were a lot of friends in the audience this night. On request Beseech even played "Moonride" from "...from a bleeding heart", which is a really good song to be played live and made Belsepub go completely crazy. You can tell that the songs from "Souls Highway" has made their way to the fans hearts by now, even if "Manmade Dreams" and "Velvet Erotica" always brings down a lot of screams and appluse.

The collaboration between Lotta and Erik just grows stronger for every gig, you can tell that these two get along great in the front. The contrast between the light, beautiful and the dark really does it on stage. That in combination with a truly tight band makes Beseech an experience on stage. It will be a pleasure to follow them on the european tour.

After the gig some (?) well deserved beers were taken in together with friends, girlfriends and fans, it got pretty late before we started to get home. I guess that Klas and Robert was pretty glad that there were fans that was there for them this night because the didn't have anywhere to sleep. But luckily a fan lend them this couch to sleep on for a while. It was a pretty tired bunch of people that met up on saturday to start packing all the stuff and drive back to Borås and unload again. After that it was just to go home and get some more sleep. Well, now we just have to wait for the next gig.
