| The
story of Beseech
The band formed in november 1992 in their hometown Borås.
The lineup then was Jörgen Sjöberg (Vocals), Andreas
Wiik (Bass), Robert Spånglund (Guitar), Klas Bohlin (Guitar)
and Morgan Gredåker (Drums).
Since then a number of members have quit and been replaced.
After the first full length CD:"... from a bleeding heart",
Nicklas Andersson joined the band as drummer.
The band started to get different ideas of how Beseech should
sound, and Jörgen, Klas, Robert och Mikael decided to continue
with the band without the other members. Shortly after that Daniel
Elofsson (Bass) and Jonas Strömberg (Drums) joined the band.
On "...from a bleeding heart" the female vocals was
done by Anna Andersson.
On "Black Emotions", Lotta Höglin took over as
the female vocalist. Lotta is today a full member of Beseech.
After the very succesful tour together with Lacuna Coil and
Theatre of Tragedy, 2001, Jörgen left the band for personal
reasons. He has now been replaced by Erik Molarin who sings the
male vocals on the Souls Highway. Despite his young age
he's got a very powerful voice that fits extremely well with the
Beseech sound.
The first recorded material that Beseech released came out in
1994 on the compilation CD: "Sometimes Death Is Better",released
by the belgian record company Shiver Records. In 1995 they released
their third demo, which lead to their first record deal
with We Bite/Corrosion Records.
The recording started in Studio Mega with producer Christian
Silver."...from a bleeding heart" was a fact. Unfortunately
due to a poor economic situation the record company wasn't able
to release the album. With the help of their publisher Anders
Mörén on Misty
Music, they terminated their deal with We Bite/Corrosion. Beseech
decided to buy the master tapes and the search for a new record
deal began, and a number of good offers came in before they decided
to sign for Metal Blade Records.
"...from a bleeding heart" was released in april 1998
on Metal Blade Records worldwide. It was shortly after this Daniel
and Jonas joined the band. A while later Beseech went seperate
ways with Metal Blade.
After negotiations with a number of different labels, they signed
a worldwide deal with Pavement Music. The new album "Black
Emotions" started recording in the end of 1999 and was released
in the spring of 2000.
The music on this masterpiece as the band itself calls it has
matured a lot and there was time in the studio to experiment and
testing. We can only agree, "Black Emotions" is a masterpiece.
After a lot of hard work during the summer and fall of 2000
managed to get to go on a extensive tour through out Europe together
with Lacuna Coil and Theatre of Tragedy durin january and february
2001. Beseech got a lot of good response and critisism during
the tour despite the fact that they were the third act. Many were
those who thought that Beseech should have headlined the tour
and we couldn't agree more.
Despite a malfunctioning tour bus (dropped exhaust system, leaking
oilseals, frozen brakepipes and so on) Beseech managed to get
through the tour with just a couple of cancelled gigs.
During 2000 Beseech also made their film debut when, "Manmade
Dreams", "Neon Ocean" and "Lunar Eclipse"
was featured on the soundtrack for the B-horror movie "Alien
Agenda 5- Alien Conspirecy" distributed by the canadian movie
company Brimstone Productions. I don't think we have to mention
that this movie never hit the big screen. Rumours have that it
might be found in very well sorted videostores and in the home
of one of the bandmembers.
After a lot of trouble with Pavement Music, it was in the fall
of 2001 time again to start searching for a new record label.
This time it was a lot easier for the band to get really good
offers. The tour and "Black Emotions" made the offers
pour in. A large number of record labels showed their interest.
Beseech made their choice and signed a worldwide deal with Napalm
Records early in 2002.
Beseech's first release through Napalm Records was called Souls
Highway and was released in 2002. This record gave Beseech a wider
audience than they had ever had before. Souls Highway got quite
some good reviews both in Sweden and abroad. But still Beseech
didn't get their breakthrough.
Early 2003 longtime guitarist and songwriter Klas Bohlin decided
to leave the band due to personal reasons. There were no hard
feelings, Klas just felt that he wanted to do his own thing.
In the summer of 2003 Beseech once again entered Studio Mega
to start the recording of their 4:th album wich was to be called
"Drama". Together with producer Christian "Bullen"
Silver they spent a couple of swetty summer months in the studio.
When the recording was finally completed the album was mastered
at Cutting Room. The album was released in february 2004.
After a busy 2004 summer festival season with just one guitarist,
Beseech recruited Manne Engström (Fatal Embrace, Sundown,
Cemetery) to fatten their overall sound. With fresh blood in the
band, Beseech began writing new material and quickly the tracks
took shape becoming more mature and complex than ever before.
Following a 6-month recording period, “Sunless Days”
finally saw the light.
To compliment “Sunless Days” (Release Date: 05 Sept
2005), a completely animated video was shot for the track "Innerlane".
This song perfectly depicts the experimental and innovative crossover
sound and music Beseech brings to the scene. Lyrically, the song
dwells into the fascination of the human mind and looks toward
the future...
